I became a mum at 21, and that’s when my passion for birth and babies began. After my daughter was born at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, I started training as a student midwife — but I soon realised that being a doula, offering emotional and practical support, was where I truly belonged.
The early days of parenting were tough. Breastfeeding didn’t come easily, but with my mum’s help finding local support groups, I finally got my daughter to latch at six weeks — something I’m still really proud of. That experience inspired me to train as a breastfeeding peer supporter, so I could offer others the kind of support that made all the difference to me.
I also experienced postnatal depression, which shaped my approach as a doula. I believe the most powerful thing I can do is listen. I’m here to support your decisions — without judgement — and walk alongside you through this big life transition.
Outside of doula work, I love painting, drumming, snow sports, running, reading, and relaxing with a pint of beer in the sunshine. Supporting families through pregnancy, birth and beyond is the most meaningful work I know — and I feel incredibly lucky every day to call this my job.
